Intent

Our vision is to support our students in realising that every one of them is a mathematician who can succeed and develop lifelong skills, which will aid them throughout school and beyond. We aim to meet the needs of all our learners through a carefully sequenced and ambitious curriculum, using research based pedagogical approaches, expert modelling and detailed explanations to allow our students to not just progress, but enjoy the subject of mathematics.

“Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe.” – Galileo Galilei

Our curriculum is based upon the outcomes set out by the National Curriculum and it supports and challenges pupils, giving them experience of how mathematics is an integral part of the world and ensuring that they are equipped for life after they leave school. We follow a robust 3-year KS3 programme of study which builds upon the prior knowledge ascertained in KS2 and this underpins the 2-year programme of study for GCSE after which students sit the AQA GCSE in mathematics.

Our team of specialists utilise their experience, knowledge and collaborative practice to work together to achieve our aim of inspiring students to become life-long learners with a passion for mathematics.
