Meeting Kirsty Mackay
At the end of last term the year 8 hockey team went to Walton-le-Dale High School to meet one of Great Britain’s goalkeepers, Kirsty Mackay. The girls had a brilliant day listening to Kirsty’s journey from high school in Blackpool to the Olympic Games in Rio as part of Great Britain’s gold medal winning team and asking lots of questions about her Olympic experience. They also took part in a practical session playing games against Walton-le-Dale while listening to tips from Kirsty.
