Netball Results: Y7 & Y8
On Wednesday, the Year 7 and 8 (A and B) netball teams competed in the Preston Schools’ Netball Tournament. Organised by Our Lady’s, there were twenty-three teams involved. Our Lady’s was one of only two schools to have four teams taking part, which shows the commitment from our pupils.
Year 7B were in a tough league facing several A teams. However, they managed to finish a respectable third, beating Moor Park and St. Cecilia’s B team, just narrowly missing out on qualification. The Year 8B team had a similar situation and had several close matches. They won one game and drew another, but it was not enough to qualify. The girls showed great determination throughout.
Year 7A got off to a flying start winning four of their games and drawing one in their league, qualifying first place to go through to the semi-finals. They faced Archbishop Temple and managed to keep their cool winning 6-2. Our Lady’s were against a strong Longridge team in the final. At half time we were three goals down. However, after a positive half time pep talk, the girls came out determined and managed to pull it back, winning 5-3. An amazing effort and huge congratulations to the team.
