Stemettes Event
On Tuesday, 7th March, fifteen of our Year 9 girls travelled to the Lancaster University School of Mathematics, situated at Cardinal Newman College. The aim of the event is to encourage girls to get involved within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities.
Our pupils worked with pupils from two other schools to build their own website using HTML. The websites focused on cyber security. The pupils had never used HTML before and initially found it tricky. The girls showed resilience and produced an excellent webpage, which they presented in front of other pupils.
The pupils presented themselves in an excellent manor and have been invited back for another session in July.
